Lower School

Arts

At Annie Wright we believe ALL of our students can and must create — and we offer a range of opportunities for every student to practice, analyze, imagine, design and perform.
Gator Creators explore the arts as part of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) program and in discipline-specific classes beyond the school day. The arts serve as playgrounds and partners in whole-child development. Classroom teachers in Kindergarten through Grade 5 partner with arts specialists several times each week to help students develop their creative selves and build greater diversity in how we explore and demonstrate our knowledge and skills as well rounded students. Preschool students also have the opportunity to work with our arts specialists during the year in unit-related workshops that build their understanding and expression through the arts.

Arts in Academics

In the Primary Years Programme, these are often interdisciplinary and unit-based explorations that nurture creative thinking, creative expression, and creative problem-solving in collaborative grade-level projects.
