Realize Tacoma: AWS and Tacoma Public Schools Partner to Build a Stronger Tacoma

Central to our strategic plan is connecting AWS within the Tacoma community.  With this in mind, we are extremely excited to announce that AWS has partnered with TPS to offer Realize Tacoma, a full scholarship, residential summer program for 30 Tacoma students hosted here on the AWS campus.  During the day, participants will connect with local non-profit leaders, politicians, and community advocates to learn about pressing issues such as housing instability, addiction, food insecurity, and mental health.  During the evenings, they will develop soft skills that allow them to build stronger relationships with one another and to take greater advantage of the activities happening during the day.  Every participant receives a full scholarship, and applications are open to students currently in Grades 10 and 11 who attend Annie Wright, Chief Leschi, or any Tacoma Public School.  If you know of a student who wants to better understand Tacoma, develop their collaborative servant leadership, and form a network of peers who will lead Tacoma into the future, encourage them to apply today via the Realize Tacoma website.
